About the Role:
A flexible support role within the Logistics team, it is responsible for covering urgent needs across key operational areas during the preparation and delivery of the Olympic Games. Duties include assisting with international and local transport coordination, warehouse management, logistics budgeting, and general event logistics. The role ensures smooth operations by stepping in wherever needed and providing daily support across the department.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluation and organisation of local and international transport (road, air, sea), including booking freight and monitoring deliveries;
- Coordination and control of warehousing operations, inventory, and materials distribution;
- Data collection and reporting: KPI monitoring, performance analysis, and logistics data management;
- Coordination of local truck fleet and distribution teams at Olympic venues and warehouses;
- Coordination with logistics providers, customs, legal, finance, and other OBS/OCS departments;
- Comprehensive support in shipping & receiving processes (managing shipments, reception, dispatch, and tracking of goods for the Olympic Games);
- Support in training and supervising the Shipping & Receiving team during Games time;
- Creation, maintenance, and periodic review of logistics budgets;
- Generation and control of purchase orders, SAP updates, and logistics expenses supervision;
- Review and processing of invoices; liaison with Accounting and Finance departments;
- Planning and coordination of transport flows, managing deadlines and resource optimisation;
- Analysis of internal and external client logistic needs, ensuring requirements and deadlines are met;
- Real-time follow-up, constant communication, and problem-solving during operations;
- Continuous process improvement, cost optimisation, enhanced supply chain visibility, and traceability;
- Capturing and analysing real-time logistics data to support decision-making;
- Collaborate on other logistics tasks as requested by the department.
Skills, Requirements & Qualifications
- Relevant or suitable tertiary qualification or certificate;
- 2+ years experience in events logistics or similar environments, preferably in international and sports settings;
- Proven background in local road transport, warehousing, or international transportation;
- High proficiency in Excel, SAP, and logistics management tools;
- Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and manage high workloads;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented and customer-focused;
- Analytical mindset with real-time problem-solving skills;
- Highly organised, detail-driven, and reliable;
- Proficient in English (written and verbal), additional languages like Italian and any other languages are advantageous;
- Flexibility and availability to work at different event locations and adapt to variable schedules.

Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) produces the live television, radio and digital coverage of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Our coverage is neutral, favouring no particular country or athlete, and includes sports competitions as well as the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
The International Olympic Committee established OBS to serve as the permanent host broadcaster for the Games, eliminating the need to continually rebuild the broadcast operation for each edition, and as a result create a more efficient, streamlined operation. This continuity allows us to maintain the highest Olympic broadcast standards from Games to Games.
